Gyrosphere - the heart of a Gyro Compass -- used in ship/boat navigation and guidance -- labeled 'Hokushin,' which later merged with Yokogawa -- possibly WWII vintage but likely newer -- Sphere measures 10 1/4 in. [257mm] across by 9 3/4 in. [248mm] high / weighs about 19 pounds -- enclosed in the original wood carrying case with metal data plates with Japanese characters, and English text -- case measures 12 3/4 by 12 1/2 by 12 1/2 in. -- -- -- a little scuffing and scratching overall but in generally nice condition -- unable to test so sold for rebuild/parts -- original padding in the case has deteriorated and most has been removed -- -- * from Yokogawa Denshikiki Co., Ltd.
