Description: This is my mother's high school ring. She graduated in Gassaway, West Virginia (a tiny town in Braxton County) in the year 1954. The Gassaway High School mascot is an elk, which is featured prominently in gold set against what I believe to be a black onyx center stone. The ring is made by Jostens, the well regarded maker of class rings for more than half a century. It is made of 10K Gold (so marked on the inside of the ring). Accordingly to my jeweler, the ring is a size 6 and weighs 4.6 grams. The ring is in very good condition. It has been well stored in my jewelry box for the last 40 or so years. It is a sweet ring, but sadly it doesn't fit me, so I would like to see it go to someone who will appreciate the ring for both its quality and history.
