1/48 Blackburn Buccaneer S.2C/D Attack Aircraft Airfix #A12012 Factory Seal MISB

Description: I want to clear some space on my shelves, so I need to part with some of my collection. The Blackburn Buccaneer is well known to the Brits, but a more obscure subject here in the States. It served throughout the Cold War, finishing its stellar career in the first Gulf War. The second generation (S.2) had many improvements and was the heaviest aircraft to operate off RN carriers. This very new kit has plenty of details, options and features, including detailed cockpit and engines, pilot figures and plenty of ordnance: 2 x Royal Navy 2-inch rocket pods, 4 x 1000lb retarded bombs, 4 x 1000lb free fall bombs, 1 x Martel missile TV guidance pod, 2 x Martel Missiles (TV) and 2 x Martel missiles (AR). This is the new Airfix Buccaneer S.2C/D kit with stunning box art that shows a hunter on the prowl. This kit is not particularly hard-to-find on eBay, but as a Top Rated Plus US Seller, I have it in stock and can reliably ship this kit very quickly. Here is what I have learned about this state-of-the-art kit: The Airfix site (uk.airfix.com) no longer has a page for this kit. I assume that means it has been Discontinued or is Out of Production. However, the associated US site (www.hornbyhobbies.com) has a nice page with a half-dozen photos of a finished model and line drawings showing four different schemes. They also share the following information: Designed to have exceptional low-altitude performance, the Blackburn Buccaneer was one of the most capable aircraft of its kind. A triumph for Britain’s aviation industry, the subsonic strike jet is the heaviest aircraft ever operated by the Royal Navy on an aircraft carrier. · Wingspan: 280 (mm)· New Mould· Intake Covers & Crew Access Ladders· Detailed Cockpit with pilot figures· Engine Panel· Opening Air-brake Scalemates.com has a page that shows this is a brand-new tooling from 2022. There is a link to download the complete full-color 46-page instruction set and painting guide. Airfix published an informative Kit Preview on the hyperscale.com site where we get a half-dozen photos of a masterfully finished model showing the splendid detail and amazing features of this advanced kit. Not surprisingly, they were big fans of the kit, saying: “Arguably, one of the biggest releases this year for Airfix is the brand new 1:48 Scale Blackburn Buccaneer S.2C/D. He gave us eighteen large photos of the sprues, parts and decals and lists the many features and options in this very modern kit. He walks through the assembly steps and revels at the quality of the instruction set. He was not ashamed to say: “I’m excited! This looks to be an awesome replacement for the old kit, and the detail is excellent, as is the engineering that has gone into the making of the kit.” Airfix also delivered an Official Unboxing Video on YouTube. It is 3.5 minutes without narration. You get an overall view of each sprue and then some zoomed detail of specific parts. Soothing music flows throughout, so relax and take a look at what comes in the box. This kit is in a large, well-decorated box about 19.5” x 12.5” x 3.5”. As you can see from the pictures, the package is pristine and still sealed with four tape squares (these were never shrink-wrapped from the factory), so I consider it factory sealed and absolutely gift-ready. This item contains one complete injection molded plastic model kit with 291 plastic parts and a large sheet of Cartograf decals to make a detailed Buccaneer.
