Description: Colton's Traveler and Tourist's Route Book Through the United States of America and the Canadas: Containing The Routes and Distances On The Great Lines of Travel, By Railroads, Stage-Roads, Canals, Lakes and Rivers. Published in New York by J. H. Colton. 1854, 134 pp, hardcover binding. In as-is condition. Covers and spine have age-related toning and wear that has caused some discoloration, bending, and tearing along the edges. Some pencil inscriptions at the beginning of the volume from a previous owner. Pages have age-related toning and foxing. Hinges are worn, and while pages remain attached, the support is not even throughout. The map at the end of the volume is largely ripped and not included. Edges of pages have age-related toning and foxing with some discoloration. Please see photographs and ask any questions prior to purchasing. An interesting look at various routes available to travelers throughout the United States and Canada. Despite the map not included, this is still a very scarce volume. A great addition to the personal collection of anyone interested in learning more about travel routes and tourism in North America during the mid nineteenth century. Any issues with hinges or binding due to age or wear could provide an excellent opportunity for restoration or rebinding, if desired. COLT1854ADELJR1067
