Description: I have for sale a medal for the 1885 International Inventions Exhibition that was held in South Kensington, London. The exhibition was open on May 4 by the Prince of Wales and the exhibition closed on November 9th. The medal is made of white metal, it is 1 1/2 inches in diameter and in what looks like uncirculated condition but if not close to it. The medalist for this medal was R. Neal. The medal obverse reads INTERNATIONAL INVENTIONS EXHIBITION - LONDON - 1885. The reverse at the rim reads YE OLDE LONDON STREETE. In the center it shows a street scene. Also on the reverse at the bottom rim it has the letters HMR which stand for Herbert M. Rombach who was the maker of this medal and was located at 21 Spring St., Paddington, London. I believe this medal was struck at the exhibition. I read that the three most prominent features at the exhibition were military weapons, musical instruments and printing machinery.
