Description: This attractive Knights Templar medal (jewel or badge) consists of a pinback bar, drop (fob), and purple and white ribbon. It is a souvenir of an 1897 visit by the Narragansett Commandery No. 27 (then in Waverly, Rhode Island) with the Calvary Commandery No. 13 in Providence. The pinback bar (hinged attachment pin with hook-type catch) is plain, and the 'drop' (fob) has a KT cross and crown symbol and states the event. There is no hallmark. The pinback bar and fob likely are composed of brass and were produced with a light gold surface treatment that remains, especially on the fob. For reference, the fob measures approximately 31 mm (nearly 1-1/4") in diameter. [9715] The metal portions are in extremely fine condition, with toning, and they remain bright. The ribbon is worn (see photos). The illustrations in this listing are photos of the actual item being offered for sale, serving as part of the description.
