Description: This incredible 1945-46 17 day journal of General Thomas Power Army Air Corps party. The voyage probably originated in Guam or another place in the Pacific. The journal starts in the 1st named stop Manila and ends in Paris. The journal provides a detailed account of the events and experiences of the entourage for this trip, and is an original piece from the United States. The trip starts December 16 and ends January 1. Stops included Calcutta, Karachi, Cairo, Athens, Rome Germany and Paris. The scribe is unknown probably a staff member. General Power later went on to command SAC and play a key role in the Cuban missile crisis. I have made a speculation that this the 45-46 period as there is no specific reference. There are 8 typed pages and a few exciting moments especially getting lost flying to Calcutta. .
