Description: Handsome large-format 1954 CSAA fold-out road map of California's Lower San Joaquin Valley and Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, printed more than 68 years ago. This map opens to 22" x 30½" and has good detail on old highway alignments and route numbers. The coverage area extends from Kernville west to the coast, including the communities of Santa Maria, San Luis Obispo, Santa Cruz, Watsonville, Monterey, Bakersfield, Fresno, Hanford, and Carmel. On the reverse side there's a map of Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks, along with mileage tables showing distance to the parks from various locations. This map was published in 1954 by the California State Automobile Association and is dated by the code on the back cover: 454. Condition: This map is in very good, lightly used condition, with some faint toning on the the lower edge of the back cover and no rips, tears, or writing.
