Description: 1967 NFL "GAMES-OF-THE-WEEK" Cleveland Browns vs Washington Redskins Plus: Dallas Cowboys vs Baltimore Colts Two back to back 1967 NFL "Games-Of-The-Week" are now together and in COLOR on one 51-minute DVD for nostalgic viewing! Cleveland hosts Washington at old Municipal Stadium in the first game, and a week later Dallas travels to Memorial Stadium, home of the Baltimore Colts. These games take place on Nov. 26 and December 3 (weeks 11 and 12 of the 1967 NFL season). The Browns enter their game with a 6-4 record, while the Redskins are 4-4-2. The NFL's leading ground-gainer Leroy Kelly scores on a 42-yd run near the beginning of this high-scoring game. Johnny Brewer's interception and 70-yd TD run gives the Browns a 14-0 lead moments later. The Redskins score in the first quarter when Charlie Taylor's TD run cuts the Browns lead in half at 14-7. Gene Mingo's 20-yd FG gets the 'Skins closer at 14-10, but Carl Ward electrifies the crowd with a 104-yd kickoff return to put the Browns up 21-10! A Frank Ryan to Paul Warfield TD pass then gives the Browns a 28-10 lead, but Sonny Jurgensen answers back with a 15-yd pass to Charlie Taylor and the score changes to 28-17 Cleveland by halftime. Early in the third quarter, the Browns score again on Ernie Green's 1-yd TD plunge and it's 35-17. Near the end of the third quarter, Redskin halfback Jerry Allen's 1-yd run brings the score to 35-24. On the first play of the fourth quarter, Kelly sweeps left and scores from the 20 to boost the Browns lead to 42-24. But Jurgensen promptly tosses a 48-yd TD pass to ex-Brown Bobby Mitchell and the Redskins are now trailing 42-31! Late in the game, Jerry Allen scores his second TD of the day, this time from 14 yards out, making the score 42-37. The Redskins drive into Cleveland territory with time running out, but Erich Barnes breaks up Jurgensen's final pass, and the Browns win a wild scoring game, 42-37! Other Browns shown in action are Bill Glass, Gene Hickerson, Lou Groza, Jim Houston, Ernie Kellerman, Dale Lindsey, Catfish Smith, Ben Davis, Ross Fichtner, Gary Collins, John Wooten, Jim Kanicki and Paul Wiggin. The following week at Memorial Stadium in Baltimore, Don Shula's undefeated 9-0-2 Colts host the 8-3 Dallas Cowboys who with a win, can clinch the Capitol Division title. The Colts score first on a Lou Michaels FG, then on second and goal at the Dallas 7, Johnny Unitas tosses to Ray Berry for a 10-0 first quarter Colt lead. Dallas QB Don Meredith gets the Cowboys on the scoreboard with a 35-yd TD pass to mercurial Bob Hayes to cut the lead to 10-7. On the next series, Dave Edwards intercepts Unitas and rambles to paydirt from the 26-yd line, giving the Cowboys a 14-10 lead at halftime. Danny Villanueva's FG adds to the Cowboy margin at 17-10, and accounts for all of the third quarter scoring. Early in the fourth quarter, Lou Michaels hits the longest FG of his career, a 53-yd kick, to bring the Colts within reach, 17-13. Later in the quarter, a long Colt drive ends with another Michaels FG and the Colts are within 1 point of the Cowboys at 17-16! It's now late in the game, and after the Baltimore defense holds the Cowboys, Unitas begins the final Colt drive which ends with Lenny Moore carrying for the winning touchdown, and the Colts come from behind and beat Dallas 23-17! Throughout the game, many other Colts of the day are shown in action, including John Mackey, Billy Ray Smith, Alex Hawkins, Tony Lorick, Tom Matte, Jerry Hill, Jerry Logan, Alvin Haymond, Don Shinnick, Dennis Gaubatz, Roy Hilton, Rick Volk, David Lee, Bob Boyd and Willie Richardson.
