2016 A.N.A. Women In Numismatics Convention Anaheim California Elongated Quarter

Description: This rare and unique Elongated Quarter was rolled in the United States in 2016 and features the iconic A.N.A. Women In Numismatics Convention design. The design was rolled / elongated / smashed / squished on a 2016 Shawnee America The Beautiful Quarter, as can be clearly seen on the reverse of the coin, since it was colored before rolling. It was designed and rolled by the legendary Ray Dillard, RIP. His signature initials are on the top portion of the design. The design says: 25th Anniversary, WIN Women In Numismatics, 2016, Founded 1991". It comes in a plastic flip, stapled to a nice yellow card that reads: "Join us in Anaheim on Thursday, August 11, 2016, at the ANA's World's Fair of Money for the 25th Anniversary Celebration of Women in Numismatics (WIN)! Visit our website for more info! www.womeninnumismatics.com". Please note that WIN was disbaned in 2022, and their website is gone. It is a must-have for any serious coin collector and a great addition to any collection. The coin is perfect for display and admiration, and its rarity only adds to its value and appeal. Don't miss your chance to own this amazing piece of Exonumia history. What you see is what you get - I did not use any stock photos for this auction.I combine shipping! The combined shipping policy is relevant FOR PINS, WINGS, SAMPLE SLABS, COINS, ELONGATED COINS, TOKENS, MEDALS, and other SMALL ITEMS, is the full price for the auction with the highest shipping cost and then one additional dollar ($1) for each additional auction won.Larger items will be packed, weighed, and combined as well.If you win a few of my auctions, please ask to receive a combined invoice for everything you won.Returns are not accepted, unless I make a mistake in the listing or accidentally send you the wrong item (and such mistakes do, unfortunately, happen, though seldom). If you have ANY questions - please ask ahead of the closing of the auction, and please be kind as to give me a few hours to respond.Shipping is always via the cheapest method I can find, unless you want me to ship it any other way, such as Priority USPS, UPS, or FedEx. I can ship with any carrier, any way you want!I use eBay's system to calculate the shipping cost according to your location. Sometimes, eBay's shipping cost system is stupidly wrong and the cost is way too much. Especially with larger and heavier items!!! I have no idea why, since I always enter the correct weight and dimensions of the packed item. Nevertheless, if you think the shipping cost is too high, please send me a message, tell me your zip code and what you see as the shipping cost, and I'll check to see if I can ship for less via UPS or FedEx!This item comes from a smoke-free, dog-loving home. We have a beautiful dog, who loves to spread her hair on everything. Although I do my best to clean everything that I ship out, encountering some of her lovely hair is a possibility.I love to recycle, so there's a good chance that I will ship in a previously used envelope or box, and use paper and used grocery bags as packing and padding materials. All of my store items have a MAKE AN OFFER option. If you make a stupid offer, I might counter with a stupid offer of my own. An offer for a few dollars less is reasonable. An offer for half of the listed price is not serious. Good luck & thank you for buying from me!Sandy Following is an announcement issued by the Women In Numismatics (WIN) group June 12, 2022After more than 30 years of service to the numismatic community, WIN has accomplished its mission and achieved the goals it set for itself. With some sadness but also pride in what the dedicated members and officers of WIN have achieved over the years, the WIN Board of Directors has decided to dissolve Women in Numismatics as of December 31, 2022.Women in Numismatics was formed in 1991 as a national non-profit organization that provided a networking and educational forum for female numismatists. Members included new and established collectors, dealers and those associated with numismatic-related organizations. WIN encouraged fellowship among its members and promoted education through guest speakers and informative presentations. WIN also provided educational opportunities to its members by awarding an annual scholarship to the ANA’s Summer Seminar in Colorado Springs.2016-P Shawnee National Forest Quarter: The America the Beautiful Quarters Program debuted on the heels of the 50 State Quarters Program and its adjunct District of Columbia and Territories program. Similar to the issuance order of the 50 State Quarters Program, America the Beautiful National Parks quarters are issued one per state, based on the order in which the selected site was first established as a National Park. The Shawnee National Forest quarter, representing Illinois, is the first issue of the America the Beautiful Quarters Program for 2016 and the 31st issue in the entire series.* * *Market Data and Noteworthy SpecimensTop Population: div > div > div > div:nth-of-type(4) > div > p:nth-of-type(6) > a" style="box-sizing: border-box; background-color: transparent; text-decoration-line: none; pointer-events: auto;">PCGS MS68 (1, 9/2024). div > div > div > div:nth-of-type(4) > div > p:nth-of-type(6) > a:nth-of-type(2)" style="box-sizing: border-box; background-color: transparent; text-decoration-line: none; pointer-events: auto;">NGC MS69 (2, 9/2024). div > div > div > div:nth-of-type(4) > div > p:nth-of-type(6) > a:nth-of-type(3)" style="box-sizing: border-box; background-color: transparent; text-decoration-line: none; pointer-events: auto;">CAC None Graded (9/2024)The div > div > div > div:nth-of-type(4) > div > p:nth-of-type(7) > strong > a" style="box-sizing: border-box; background-color: transparent; text-decoration-line: none; pointer-events: auto;">United States Mint heavily promoted the release of each new quarter. In 2016, collectors had the opportunity to buy the 2016-P Shawnee National Park quarter in the annual America the Beautiful Quarter Set, as part of the 2016 United States Mint Annual Uncirculated Coin Set, and in bags and roll quantities. The Mint sold the quarter in these configurations at a premium over face value. In addition, the coins were distributed through normal banking channels and could have been acquired, with a little determination on the part of the collector at face value.Nearly a decade into the coin’s release, collectors can easily find the Shawnee quarter in circulation. Examples that exhibit any degree of wear, damage, or noticeable scratches are worth only face value.Uncirculated examples in div > div > div > div:nth-of-type(4) > div > p:nth-of-type(9) > a" style="box-sizing: border-box; background-color: transparent; text-decoration-line: none; pointer-events: auto;">raw form have sold recently on eBay for about $1.50 per coin—unopened bags for $30 to $35.A burst of submission activity typically follows the release of each new quarter design. The population data at NGC and PCGS show a few hundred coins at each service. Both report a sizable population of coins at the MS-67 level, which informs us that Superb Gem coins are likely common. We estimate the value to be no more than $15. Both services report a few coins in higher grades. There is no current market data to establish a price. Be aware that additional submissions will follow any report of a record price being paid for a high-grade coin when an abundant supply of ungraded inventory exists.* * *DesignObverse:A modern reworking of John Flanagan’s Washington quarter design. President George Washington’s left-facing bust sits in the center of the coin. Wrapping around the top of the coin is the legend UNITED STATES OF AMERICA. To Washington’s left is the inscription LIBERTY. To his right, the motto IN GOD WE TRUST. The coin’s denomination wraps around the bottom of the coin, written as QUARTER DOLLAR.Reverse:The reverse, designed by U.S. Mint Artistic Infusion Program artist Justin Kunz and engraved by Jim Licaretz, shows a rock formation known as Camel Rock, which is located in Shawnee National Forest’s “Garden of the Gods”. Park vegetation is in the foreground, and a red-tailed hawk flies above the whole scene.Edge:The edge of the 2016-P Shawnee National Forest quarter is reeded.DesignersAmerican sculptor John Flanagan’s work in the medallic and metal arts ranks him as one of the best artists of his generation.
