Description: You are bidding on one - 2017 1 OZ Silver DRAGON & PHOENIX COIN from the Perth Mint. Each of these coins come from mint rolls. "Mint Condition & Original Mint Bag - Beautiful Mint Error Variety... Limited Mintage." * The obverse picture's show the mint error clearly for those that wish to take a look... We have limited stock! As you can see in the attached picture this listing is for the "error" variety. It has the proof finish behind the Phoenix's head and next to the Dragon's rear right foot where it should be matte finish. I have done some research but have been unable to confirm how many of these "error" rounds were minted, but it appears they are quite rare. Story of the Phoenix and Dragon Beauty: In 2017 Australia's Premier Perth Mint introduced this beauty, the Dragon and Phoenix. This coin is made of .9999 fine silver and weighs 1 troy oz. While it is being released as a bullion coin, mintage is limited to 50,000 pieces. Between its low mintage limit and its impressive design, this coin has plenty to offer collectors. Since this coin was issued for Australia, the obverse features a detailed effigy of Queen Elizabeth II. The reverse features a dragon on the right and a phoenix on the left. Both are depicted with a traditional Chinese style. At the center there is a flaming pearl, also known as a Pearl of Wisdom. Each of these creatures symbolize plenty of positive things. These coins are still protected by its original capsule from the Perth Mint. They have not been graded and are in GEM Brilliant Unciruclated condition. Initial reports on coin forums and websites that cover world coins suggested the new coin would be a "one off" release. According to a post on November 6 by an Australian precious metal analyst known as "Bullion Baron", however the 2017 Dragon and Phoenix is actually the first of a new series. Additionally he stated there will be various versions of the coin such as a "high relief and/or gold version". Bullion Baron also noted that the coin was conceptualized and designed over a two-year period before its release, and designs for 2018 are already in the pipeline. This first coin was design by Tom Vaughn, who has designed many other coins for the Perth Mint, such as the 2017 Year of the Rooster silver coin, 2014 Year of the Horse gold and silver coins, and the amazing 2014 Zeus high relief silver coin. The accumulation of a very low mintage for a bullion coin, the impressive design and interesting background, the first coin of a new series, the high demand expected for these coins, and the Perth Mint's amazing quality standards mean the 2017 Dragon and Phoenix silver bullion coin will be highly sought out all over the world by silver stackers and collectors alike..
