Unusual, because not only does this piece glow a stunning blue in shortwave UV, but it ALSO has a lavender midwave and yellow longwave mineral response! See below… The small piece weighs 0.2 ounces (8 g) and has BRILLIANT BLUE Shortwave fluorescent color. UV Photos #1, 4, and 9 are in shortwave. But notice Photos # 2, 5 and 10! These Photos are in LONGWAVE UV, where an unknown mineral fluorescent response is seen, adding bright yellow to this already super nice rock. Under Midwave (Photos # 3, 6, and 11) the rock takes on a lavender color with touches of yellow/tan. Use a powerful UV flashlight of the correct wavelength(s) to see these colors best. The rock measures 1.50 inches X 0.50 inch X 0.50 inch (3.6 cm x 1.1 cm x 1.1 cm). Typical Blacklight UV lights will not display any color. Also, the intensity of the color will vary depending on the strength of the lamp you have. For a good quality lamp of any mineral wavelength at a reasonable price, I suggest you consider the lamps by Engenious Designs available on the Internet on their website.
