A fold-out map of China is attached at the end of the book. I’m not sure this book was ever read in its entirety,as there are a few pages toward the end that are partially uncut. This book is in very readable condition. The only extraneous writing is on the front loose endpaper(where there is a small bookstore stamp, as well). The pages are lightly tanned from age,and most are very cleanwith the exception of a few pages that have bits of spotting in the top margin. Pages 374-375 are the most heavily spotted (photo shown),with some of the spots extending down into the text,although this does not make the text at all unreadable. Page 448 is intentionally (I believe) missing (cut) from the book;I think this is purposeful, as it doesn’t look as though this pagewould have contained any information(its placement is between the end of the manuscriptand the beginning of the biographical index). The binding feels somewhat loose,and there is cracked guttering along the title page with slightly exposed netting. This book does show a lot of wear on the exterior:fading/discoloration; very worn, rubbed edges and corners;softening/wear at the head and foot of the spine, etc. Numerous photos are included to help accurately convey condition;please look closely. ________PAYMENTEbay may generate an automated unpaid item memo after 4 days!
