The copyright page also states that this is a first American edition published in 1945. The book itself is in excellent condition. The binding is square and tight and immaculate throughout. The grey cloth boards are clean and the purple lettering is still quite beautiful. There is slight fraying to the very end of the spine but nothing terrible. The front board corner has a “bumped” edge. The jacket is complete and has the original price of $2.00 present on the front flap as shown. There is chipping to the spine and edges of the jacket and general wear from handling over time. There are several small tears and one larger tear which I tried to show best from the reverse side of the jacket in the last photo. This copy will make a wonderful addition to any collection or library.
