"Against the Storm," another OTR soap opera (the title of which is from 'King Lear'), began the first of its 3 runs (and a small portion of its 13 years of success) on NBC, October 16, 1939. The final episode of this soap opera, took place on the Mutual Broadcasting System (MBS), June 27, 1952. Created and written by Sandra Michael, directed by Axel Gruenberg and starring Roger DeKoven, Gertrude Warner, Arnold Moss and Joan Alexander, this program took place at the "Deep Pool Farm" in Hawthorne, Connecticut. It depicted the "every-day-lives" of the Professor (of Hawthorne's fictional Harper University) Jason McKinley Allen (Roger DeKoven, who starred during all 3 runs), his wife, their daughters & this family's many friends.
