Description: Offered here is a very collectible nautical doorstop by Bradley & Hubbard.. If you do a search on eBay for Bradley & Hubbard doorstops youll find that most of the listings are just single bookends. This is the real deal. It is very uncommon and it is in excellent condition. Circa 1925. The B&H shop mark is on the backside Cast iron with the bronze finish Take a good look at the photo I have included a photo of a previous identical doorstop that I sold a few years ago. Sailing ship with two masts and square sails on both yards is called the brig. I believe the door stop may have been modeled after the brig Pilgrim which is the ship Richard Henry Dana sailed around Cape Horn on his travels to San Francisco and later wrote about in the book Two Years Before The Mast. This is a very hard doorstep to find. As you can see from the last photo I have a number of Bradley & Hubbard and Judd decorative doorstops. Yes, real doorstops - not the single bookends that are in improperly marketed as doorstops on eBay It is quite large: 9 inches tall, 7 1/2 inches wide 3-1/2 inches deep. It weighs 6 pounds. The 2 bumpers are replacements. Usually the bumpers are just missing due to being extremely brittle. Shipping is $20. Any questions please ask.
