Description: This is an antique EAPG or Early American Pattern Glass spooner or spoon holder with a gorgeous neoclassical pattern called either Minerva or Roman Medallion, made in the 1870s by Adams Glass Company, USA. The spooner has a combination of raised dots or beading and classical medallions of a Roman goddess and a warrior with grapes and leaves, a pedestal and a beaded rim. The spooner 5 inches high by 3.5 in diameter and is in very good used vintage condition with a good, strong pattern. The spooner is very attractive and is one of the most sought after of EAPG, or Early American Pattern Glass spooner patterns. See the last 5 photos for examples of minor Knicks on the lip edge from usage...the last photo shows a curved line within the medallion and appears to be a defect in the glass manufacturing.
