I am happy to put this item on reserve for a short period while you arrange shipping and/or inspect the item yourself. This piece has been described to me as a Plantation or Company Desk. It is part of a combined family estate and came from either an Ohio Farm or New England, likely the Boston area. I don’t know which as at one time, items from both estates were combined. The desk was likely made in the late 1800s. I believe the wood is Cherry with a Pine back. The desk is in good condition. It appears to have been polished or finished with something that is likely deteriorating and creating streak marks. I think it might have been a wax-base polish. The piece stands about 69 inches tall and about 38 inches wide. The desk is in two, unattached, pieces. The top cupboard is about 27 inches tall by about 36 inches wide by about 13 inches deep. The bottom cupboard with flip-down desk table is about 42 inches tall (including the legs) by about 38 inches wide by about 16 inches deep (with the desk flipped up). The legs are about 21 inches long. This desk is old but in very good condition, except for the finish which I have described above. There appears to be a newer latch put on the inside of the top door. If you have any questions or require more photos, please feel free to contact me. I do have at least one key for the lock.
