Description: Antique rare German Black Santa Claus with unusual paper-mache head. Santa is riding in a sleigh pulled by a reindeer. He is made with wired chenille body and rabbit fur beard. Santa is 3 1/4" tall, seated, he is 3". Santa is in good condition, light wear, his arms look fragile. Felt clothing is in good condition. The cardboard sleigh is marked Germany, the reindeer is also German, no marking. The sleigh has some wear & bends at back corners. Reindeer has some paint loss in spots. There is an old brush tree in the sleigh, it measures 4 7/8" x 2 3/4" wide. Santa's head has a small hole in top and seam down the sides. not a crack. The German Black Santa is rare, I have not seen one like this. I am currently listing many antique German Christmas items shown in photo. I do combine shipping.
