The woman who had this was the first female mayor of San Marino CA and a major philanthropist. Wonderful antique German porcelain bisque doll head with arms in cloth body and fully costumed. Created by German doll manufacturer Simon & Halbig most likely late 19th to very early 20th century. Marked on back as shown. She is about 14" tall with a blond wig and looks Scandanavian but this is not my area of expertise so please look at the photos since they are part of the description and I will be happy to send more photos if needed. She can be seated somewhat so that will help with box size. She is in good antique condition with surface wear and glue stains around wig area. eyes do not open and close when moving doll although you can manually move them with mechanism in head. Some tears to costume. Surface wear to porcelain and fabric. No chips or cracks to porcelain noted. Weighs 1 lb before packing. Items I sell are not new. They have been used so do not expect mint condition unless otherwise noted. Measurements are approximate and may not be totally exact.
