Description: Fabulous antique English Mappin & Webb hallmarked sterling silver 3pc tea or coffee cup, teaspoon & napkin ring set, thick & heavy and in the original oyster shaped gilt embossed leather box or presentation case! Elegant pieces in thick & heavy sterling silver, all with a smooth highly polished style and the mug or cup with a ball footed base. The cup with an engraved personalization or dedication reading "Marie Sophie" and all bear English sterling silver hallmarks. The cup and napkin ring original Mappin & Webb pieces with 1858 date letters, the spoon apparently a replacement and has a date mark for 1898. The box is simply fabulous also, with that lovely oyster type shaping, gilt embossed rim and royal blue interior. The inside of the lid with a gold embossed label reading "Mappin & Webb, Manufacturing Goldsmiths & Silversmiths. Oxford Street, London. W.". A beautiful set, don't miss it! Excellent condition. With the exception of the replaced spoon, this set really has all of the appearances of never being used. Very slight surface scuffs possible but no dents, damage or repairs that I can see. The box is also in great shape, remarkable really, with only a few exterior marks. The clasp doesn't grab the lid securely right now. See pictures for all weights and measurements.
