Lilley Company of Columbus, OHMaker's mark is on the ricasso on one side and "Memento Mori" on the other side.The M.C. Lilley company was in business from 1882 to 1925, so the sword was produced somewhere in that timeframe.Sword's over-all length is 34-7/8". Blade is 28" in length. Handguard width is 4-3/4".Blade width tapers from 0"-5/8".Intricate etchings on blade, along with the name "William T. Symes".The blade is very clean with little or no tarnish. The artistry on the handle is faded, and the pommel and handguard show patina.Very ornate pommel (knight's helmet) and handguard roundels.Equally impressive scabbard is 29-3/8" long with highly detailed appointments. Three lanyard rings and tension adjustment screws.The scabbard shows patina on the appointments and has some light surface rust spots on the chromed areas.Own a piece of Freemasonry history, perfect for display or ceremonial use.
