Description: A fabulous, luxurious piece, with heavy metallic threads on a burgundy cotton ground. The word ‘sari’ is printed in one corner of the back. Tapis are tubular dresses which are made in one piece and seamed so that they can be worn under one’s arms. These pieces are very ornate and can take up to a year to make and they are very heavy. The condition is excellent. We note a few small holes at the selvage end as well as some tiny spots. It does appear to have some uneven fading as pictured and as consistent with its age. 30-1/2” x 84”
