Description: Another find from Grandfathers display case. I am not sure when this statue was purchased, however as noted from my other listings, the majority of his collection was acquired well over 20 years ago. This unique candle holder statue is a beautiful representation of Mexican culture. It is rare to find a Circle of 3 Friends which makes it even more special. The legend of the Circle of Friends is a Mayan Indian story about a candle holder that is said to strengthen the bond between friends. According to the legend, friends would gather around a bonfire at the end of the day to share their feelings, praise each other, and reminisce. As the embers died away, their friendship would be renewed and they would become closer. This candle holder is handmade by skilled artisans from western Mexico and features intricate designs that showcase the rich heritage of the Aztec Mayan people. Each 'friend' is individually shaped by hand from terra-cotta and fired in a wood burning kiln. No two candle holders are exactly alike. It is a perfect gift for a friend or a unique centerpiece for a dinner party. The statue measures approximately 7" X 7" X 7" and weighs close to 3.5 pounds. Please feel free to email should you have questions or require additional information.
