Collected and systematized in such a large number of illustrated monuments of Cossack history together with the scientific research of scientists, it allows the whole world to imagine the development and rise of the Cossack state - Ukraine, to get to know more deeply the historical figures and historical and cultural processes of the Hetmanship and Zaporozhye.The publication included 5,175 photographs, including 535 photo illustrations of portraits of hetmans, Kosh chieftains, Cossack elders and their families, 167 portraits of historical figures of the Cossack era, church and cultural and educational figures, writers and scientists, governors and princes, emperors and kings, more than 100 original portraits of kobzars and lyrniks. Almost all portraits are photographed from an ancient primary source. 453 units of cold weapons, firearms and military equipment were photographed and described, the publication included almost all 42 cleynods - maces, divers and keleps of hetmans and Cossack foremen, stored in museums of Ukraine and abroad.
