Description: British Army Solid Silver Ashtray by Viners (Presented to Lt Col H.B. Williams) This is in great un-used condition and has hallmarks for Edward Viner (E.W) & Sheffield 1958. (78.82g weight) It’s engraved to a British Army Officer (HB Williams) in Iringa (Tanzania) in 1961 from a “Welcome House”. This was possibly presented to Lieutenant-Colonel Hugh Beynon MONIER-WILLIAMS, OBE, MC, MiD*, of the Suffolk Regiment who was twice mentioned in dispatches during WW1 & WW2, who died in 1985.
