Description: Up for auction is a Very Rare, First Photoplay Edition/First Printing of Business And Pleasure by Booth Tarkington. Photoplay Title Of "The Plutocrat". A Fox Photoplay Starring Will Rogers. Illustrated with stills from the 1932 film starring Will Rogers. Stunning jacket painting of Will Rogers by Mac Tey. TRUE First Editions of this Particular Title are Scarce and Becoming Exceedingly Hard to Find!! Please remember The Plutocrat was published in 1927. This is the First Photoplay Edition, published in 1932, an important distinction to remember. Unfortunately, this copy is Ex-Libris/Ex-Library!! While free from a majority of the usual library markings, there are still numerous stamps and wear!! The wear is VERY clearly visible and should be carefully examined/considered BEFORE buying!! Hardcover with its original. A majority of the original dust jacket is missing! The front cover and inside front flap, however, is still present and has been permanently attached/glued on. Published by Grosset & Dunlap: New York, 1927. While "1927" is the only date present, this copy was actually published in 1932. This rare treasure has some VERY clearly visible wear/age, but is still in Highly Desirable condition! It is, however, an Ex-Library Copy and the wear is extensive! The wear should be carefully examined/considered BEFORE buying. The book appears gently read and other than a previous owner signature on the ffep/first blank page, has no internal writing, no foxing, no remainder marks and no missing pages. The binding is holding tight and the pages are still surprisingly crisp and clean! Some general/shelf wear along with... A previous owner signature on the ffep/first blank page. Written in pen, the name/writing/page was closely photographed for your consideration. Creases/scuffing/rips/marks/wear to the spine/corners/boards. Most noticeable on the spine, at the corners and near/a/long the edges. The wear is extensive! Numerous library stamps on the front paste down/inside front board, the ffep/first blank page and the rear paste down/inside rear board. Creases/wear to the pages. While varying in size and severity, the wear is still very clearly visible. Marke/wear to the edge/fore pages. The original dust jacket cover is attached/glued to the front board and has some wear including scuffing and marks. The original inside front flap has been attached/glued to the inside front board and has some scuffing and marks. Please note the numerous library stamps and the wear to the spine/corners/boards! We purposely and closely photographed what we consider to be the most obvious and egregious wear. We tend to grade the condition of our books rather harshly and took into consideration any and all wear when determining the value of this rare book. Our VERY LOW asking price is a reflection of that consideration. If this copy was in better condition, had its original, complete dust jacket and was not Ex-Libris, our asking price would be considerably higher! Once again, we want to reiterate that this copy is Ex-Libris/Ex-Library and the wear to both the book and what's left of the dust jacket is extensive and VERY clearly visible! The wear should be carefully examined/considered BEFORE buying. Numerous photographs from various angles were taken for your consideration/inspection. Please closely and carefully view ALL the pictures for further clarification!! Following the conclusion of the auction, payment must be received within three days or the book will be re-listed. Please feel free to contact us with any and all questions. We are very proud of our 100% positive feedback/ranking and offer an easy, no questions asked return policy so you can buy with confidence! Thank you!!
