Description: This is a used reproduction of an old school cannister drum throne. These cannisters were very popular from the 1940s up through the 70s. Drum manufacturers such as Slingerland, Rogers and Ludwig included a cannister as part of a full drum kit. Most notably, Buddy Rich and Gene Krupa used a cannister throne throughout their entire careers. Unfortunately no drum manufacturer makes these cannisters today but there are a few of the originals out there for sale. The condition of these old thrones is often poor and due to rarity the prices are usually quite high. So this is an excellently crafted reproduction by Lowell Parker of Parker Thrones. This throne was commissioned in 2019 and has been in gentle use since. It features a high quality genuine leather seat, rubber feet and is finished in DW Marine Pearl (just like Buddy's and Gene's). If you need a different wrap, this is easily accomplished by having the cannister re-wrapped by any of the drum repair places who undertake such work. The wrap is in good shape except the seam is damaged as can be seen in the picture. The seat latches are somewhat loose but can be easily adjusted or repaired and the bottom shows scuff marks from being on the floor. Other than that it is in overall good condition.
