Description: Chikaramachi Hand Painted Peach Lusterware Vase Japan For consideration is this vintage hand painted peach lusterware vase made by Chikaramachi, an early member of the Noritake Family, in Japan. The design has a river and lake, blockish buildings and an island with several trees on it in yellow, purple and cinnamon orange. This vase measures 6 inches tall, the mouth measures 2 3/8 inches in diameter and the base measures 2¼ inches in diameter. The base is marked in red ink with the crown mark registered in 1928 (see note below). It is in excellent vintage condition with no nicks, chips, cracks, repairs, scratches, discoloration or crazing noted. Buyer will receive FREE shipping. Thank you for looking! NOTE: The Chikaramachi crown mark was registered in 1928 and was used for several years. This mark is red and consists of a slightly smaller crown within a laurel wreath with two lines in a semi-circle above CHIKARAMACHI and HANDPAINTED, and a semi-circle below, MADE IN JAPAN. The company name became Noritake Co., Limited, in 1981 and is still in business.
