Description: Children & Animals Postcard Chocolate Mold #23904 Anton Reiche Dresden 1900s Click image to enlarge Description Offered for your consideration is an antique postcard style chocolate/candy mold. Made in Germany, this mold was created by Anton Reiche of Dresden. It features young children, alternating with animals. The animals include a cat, dog, fox and a rabbit. The mold is marked with the name of the manufacturer and the origin to the back, as well as the style number 23904. I would date this piece to the early 1900s, and being a postcard style, is only one piece. In good to very good as found condition, the mold is free of dents and does have some handling and use wear and some oxidation and light surface rust. I certainly not recommend this item to be used for candy making as it is being presented. There is a small hole at the mouth of the 4th child (see pic #19). It measures 8 1/4" x 3 1/2" x 5/8" at the base. The candy mold weighs about 4 ounces. A great find/addition for the candy mold collector. Auctions can be combined to save on shipping.
