Description: Daddy-Long-LegsBy Jean Webster “It isn’t the big troubles in life that require character. Anybody can rise to a crisis and face a crushing tragedy with courage, but to meet the petty hazards of the day with a laugh–I really think that requires spirit.”Eighteen-year-old Jerusha (Judy) Abbott always finds a reason to be happy. Hardworking and inquisitive, she has been brought up at the John Grier home. with no hopes for the future after completing her schooling, she works at the dormitories of the orphanage. But life seems to have something more in store for her. and what could be better than having her college education sponsored by one of the trustees? All that Judy must do is write a letter every month to her anonymous benefactor. As Judy begins to share her experiences with him in her letters illustrated with childlike drawings, will she ever get to know who he is?A classic tale of a girl’s coming of age, Daddy-Long-Legs is Jean Webster’s best known work. it has been adapted into stage plays, TV series and movies in various languages. More than a century after its publication, this epistolary novel continues to win the hearts of its readers.
