Genuine Factory Original La-Z-Boy Recliner & Lift Chair Parts in Excellent Condition!----------//---------- NOTE: When the recliner is tipped over forward onto the legrest -- or too much weight is applied to the legrest.THE MOTOR END CAP AND THE CENTER of the Large Plastic Clevis Mount ARE the 2-parts that usually breaks (cracks). The 3rd part that breaks is the long plastic shaft that guides the plastic parts when reclining. The ONLY three plastic La-Z-Boy parts that break are included in this kit. Two parts (motor end-cap and shaft-guide) are near mint and in like new condition. The 3rd part (large center plastic piece, clevis mount) is in excellent condition as well but with minor scratches on both circular ends caused by the holding brackets (does not affect operation or longevity). PLEASE READ THESE ADDITIONAL NOTES:In recent years, La-Z-Boy switched out 2 of these plastic parts (the motor end-cap and large clevis mount) for one metal bracket that does not break.However, it is noted that this metal upgrade bracket puts extra strain on the motor shaft screw on end-cap due to a shorter rotation and no swivel points. This may eventually lead to circular strain lines on the motor shaft about an inch from the end (end-cap screw on threads inside of shaft) that could lead to the motor shaft end-cap breaking off eventually.It is about the same amount of work to install the newer style metal clevis mount as it is to install these original plastic parts. NOTE: These original plastic parts have 3-benefits over the newer La-Z-Boy Metal Clevis Mount which are:The original plastic parts (sold in this kit) put less strain on the motor shaft (more swivel points) which extends the motors life.The original plastic parts (sold in this kit) provide a smoother recliner with less crackling (more swivel points). The original plastic parts (sold in this kit) act as a safety feature to protect the users legs. If for any chance, too much weight is applied to the legrest, the plastic parts are intended to break and thus prevent injury to the users legs. CONCLUSION: It is our humble opinion that if any of these 3-plastic parts break, to replace them with the original factory La-Z-Boy plastic parts (sold here) to put the recliner back to its original state when purchased. ----------//---------- BONUS ITEM INCLUDED: MOST IMPORTANT TOOL NEEDED FOR THIS REPAIR: 1-NEW... tempered high quality Torx T30 1/4 inch drive bit, that is tight and does not wobble or slip!2-self locking bolts on each side of the large center clevis mount (part that breaks) are sometimes extremely tight (80% of the time).These 2-self locking bolts must be removed without slipping or stripping the Torx T30 head or they will have to be drilled out.TO COMPLETE THIS REPAIR WITH EASE, USE THE TORX T30 BIT INCLUDED WITH THIS PURCHASE.
