Description: Extremely rare Ravi Shankar autographed poster. On October 21, 1971, the giant of Indian music came to the University of Iowa to perform a concert for the benefit of East Pakistani refugees--the country of Bangladesh would be born weeks later. Designed by local woodcut artist Barbara Ash Camillo, the poster measures roughly 13 x 9 inches and is mounted on 20 x 16 black poster board. It portrays Ravi with his sitar, and is inscribed with his flowing, oversized signature. The poster is in very good condition though the lower corners of the board on which it's mounted have been bent. $175, free shipping.
