Description: Four volume hardcover lot, with matching, embossed bindings, published by PF Collier & Sons Corporation, New York. Various copyright dates, 1930s and 40s. Printed in the 1940s. Bindings are a brick red cloth designed to simulate leather, with gilt titles and accents on the spines. Titles are: Change of Heart, He Married A Doctor, Arizona Star, and A Job for Jenny/Star on Her Shoulder. Each measures about 5 1/2" x 7 3/4" x 1". Faith Baldwin, (1893-1978) was an American author of romance and fiction, often concentrating on women characters juggling career and family. One of the most successful writers of light fiction in the 20th century, her works targeted an audience of middle class women who loved her writing. She published more than 85 books, more than 60 of them novels The popularity of her writing was enormous. She also wrote innumerable stories, articles, and newspaper and magazine columns. I do not know how many volumes Collier's published with these uniform bindings, but I'm sure it was more than four. However, four is what I have, so far is what you will be getting. Condition: books show slight wear, especially at corners, but I see no writing or underlining, contents have only slight edge browning, and books are tightly bound and firm. I would not hesitate to give these as a gift.
