Description: Beautiful and high quality sterling silver spoon from Chicago Illinois dating back to years around 1900 featuring handle full of embossed extremely detailed images, front and back. On the front starts with portrait of Indian chief with fancy headdress, below detailed image of defensive fort tower structure and the writing is FT. DEARBORN, then banner reading CHICAGO, below DOUGLAS MONUMENT down the handle. In the bowl it has embossed very detailed image of man on the horse monument, the writing is GRANT MONUMENT CHICAGO. On the back of the handle it features various Indian symbols: teepee, canoe, tomahawk, papoose, pipe, etc. Measures 4-1/4" long (105 mm), weights 10.2 grams and it is in excellent condition. On the back marked STERLING and has hallmark with the old mark of H on a pennant for Mechanics Sterling Company, which was subsidiary of Watson Newell Co.
