Description: Up for grabs is the 17th issue of Gamers Republic. Volume 2, Issue 5. It arrived in October of 1999. This is the "Jet Force Gemini" issue. Gamers Republic gets its reputation from the fact that this was Dave Halverson's second big run of magazines upon his departure from GameFan. The original "Die Hard GameFan", was widely considered one of the best video game magazines ever. When everybody found out that all the editors basically changed, many subscribers abandoned GameFan and continued to follow Halverson around, wherever that was. First it was Gamers Republic and then later it was Play Magazine. Games Reviewed in this issue include: Jet Force Gemini for the Nintendo 64. Air Force Delta, Ready 2 Rumble, Soul Calibur and TNN: Hardcore Heat for the Sega Dreamcast. Thousand Arms, Final Fantasy 8, Suikoden II, Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver and Omega Boost, for Sony PlayStation. Previewed Games in this issue include: Crash Team Racing, Die Hard Trilogy 2, GTA 2, Test Drive: Off Road 3, Pop'n Tanks (import) and Robot Dandy (import) for the Sony PlayStation. Fighting Force and Frame Gride (import) for Sega Dreamcast. Oni was previewed for High-End gaming PC's. Sprocket was previewed for the Nintendo 64. Please take a close look at all the pictures.
