Description: This Getzen 3C flugelhorn mouthpiece has a Small Morse taper shank, and fits relatively well in oversize Large Morse receivers. This was the model included with Eterna flugelhorns at one point - the design and nomenclature appear in the 1970 Getzen catalog, so that puts this example around that timeframe. Overall, this is a nice, middle-of-the-road design. The medium-wide rim is somewhat flat, so it is comfortable. The medium-deep cup and throat combination result in a flexible, somewhat dark flugelhorn tone. This and others of this type fit well in the Conn 24A [Swiss Willson stencil] Small Morse receiver, as well as the oversize Amati-Kraslice B-226/AFH-201 and Conn 1F "Vintage One" Large Morse receivers. The 3C design here is rather close to that of the Vincent Bach 3CFL, and the rim/cup appear identical to the unbranded "12" mouthpiece, possibly for alto brass or bugle. Interestingly, this design also is close to the Lausmann-made "6C" stencil mouthpieces, also with Small Morse taper shank. This example has some nicks and dings, with a few light scratches. The shank opening is round with one bit of plating missing, and the silver plating on the rest is still in good shape - it's ready to play! Sold as-is, no returns, pay within 3 days.
