Description: This is a Hermann Oak Harness leather straight curb strap with a single stainless steel halter buckle and has leather loops. I call these straight bin curb straps due to them being made from leather out of my "straight bin". The straight bin is leather that was cut off of a new side of leather when it was straightened so that a strap cutter could be used to cut a strap of some kind. Even on a saddle there is one side of skirting that will have a portion straightened where the stirrup leathers are cut from. When cutting latigos, headstalls, and other items from a new side there will always be a first piece right out of the top of the back that is cut off to have a straight edge to use a strap cutter with. When the box gets full, then it's time to build items like curb straps and stirrup hobble straps. These are sometimes made out of a straight piece that was left over from a strap goods project also. This one has a stainless steel halter buckle and I have oiled it with a high quality neatsfoot oil. I have used this halter #5705 style of buckle on many headstalls and is a good strong buckle.
