Description: HO Brass Union Pacific 2-8-2 #2480-class. Produced by Samhongsa of Korea for Key Imports in 1977. MINTUnion Pacific’s hefty stable of 2-8-2 Mikados included 20 examples of this class, outshopped by Alco in 1918. The versatile locos were assigned a variety of duties throughout the UP system, including switching and short-haul service. Many remained active on the line until the end of steam operations in the late 1950’s. The model has been stored in its original box since purchased new. There is some residue on the unpainted brass service from the reddish plastic wrapping of the original packaging. The model test runs quite smoothly, though will benefit from thorough servicing, as it has been dormant for nearly 45 years!
