Everything works perfectly and the motor and gears run ever so quiet and smooth. It is ready for immediate food use. Mixer was used by a small restaurant for mashed potatoes and other light work. It never kneaded dough and was stored for many years also. Runs just like new. This Hobart 12 quart mixer is the most powerful version made with the 1/3 HP motor. Also, this style did not have the safety cage which everyone dislikes using. Everyone loves the power of the 1/3 HP motor over the older 1/4 HP motor especially when kneading dough.
