Description: On offer is a 54mm figure set handcrafted by Imperial Productions of Greytown, New Zealand, widely regarded as one of the finest makers of traditional glossy toy soldiers and figures in the world. David Cowe and his family designed, sculpted, cast and painted, by hand, these miniature works of art which collectively represent a pinnacle in the long history of traditional toy soldier makers. It would appear that Imperial Productions has ceased operations, making these figures all the more difficult to find. Toy soldier fans the world over sincerely hope that we’ve not seen the last from Imperial Productions. This set, no. 101, is from Imperial’s Napoleonic Wars collection and depicts a French light cavalry trumpeter from the 12th Chaussers A’ Cheval Regiment. The Chasseurs a’ Cheval were reputedly one of Napoleon’s favorite cavalry regiments and he often wore their characteristic green “undress” officer uniforms. These regiments remained loyal to Napoleon to the end, charging the British and Prussian cavalries repeatedly at the battle of Waterloo in 1815. The figure is in mint condition with no damage or fading of original colors and has been in storage for years after being cabinet displayed.Original box and foam packing included. Please examine photographs for details of condition and items included. If you have any questions or need more photos, please do not hesitate to contact me.
