Description: Hello! This is a World War II era propaganda cover featuring a caricature of the Japanese Navy as seahorses in command of sunken ships. It is a sealed 6 1/2 x 3 5/8" envelope with no enclosure. Affixed to the front is a vertical Jefferson coil, (Scott 842) postmarked at a Navy base on November 1, 1944. On the reverse is a return address stamp for Sgt. Andrew A Christensen, stationed at Monterey, California.This vintage cover has tanned and shows light dirt and creasing. There is a nibble at the bottom right corner. The reverse has picked up ink from another cover. Please check the photos for details.
