JERZY MAREK Listed Naive Cat Print Pencil Signed Limited Edition Framed

Description: DESCRIPTION - A rare original limited edition 102/500 print of a white cat on a table before a window. A charming naive print signed and numbered in pencil by the well listed artist Jerzy Marek along the bottom edge. Jerzy Marek (1925-2014, Polish) was born in Poland and moved to London, England at the age of 23 in 1948 after taking the British side during the second world war. Marek first started painting in 1967 and was primarily self-taught. He is known for his small scale primitive-naive pieces which show a variety of cats with enigmatic expressionsin interiors and in pastoral scenes. These paintings use several layers of paint which give them a deep rich appearance. His works have been exhibited worldwide, and he is mentioned in the Rona Guide to the world of Naive Art. Marek died in 2014 at the age of 90 yrs. Professionally mounted in a good mid green mount and gilt coloured wooden frame. Photographed in natural daylight with no digital enhancements. APPROX SIZE of visible image 9.5" x 8.5" and 14.5" x 13" including mount. CONDITION - In very good condition with some rippling along the top edge - please see photos to satisfy yourself as to condition as they form part of the description.
