Description: Mammals of the World. By Ernest Walker. Johns Hopkins Press, 1964, first edition. Three volume set. Vol. I-II are in publisher's slip case, Vol. III is separate (as issued). Vol. I & II are w/o dust jacket, Vol. III has a plain paper dust jacket (added by owner?). Vol. I and II total over 1500 pages. Vol. III, a classified bibliography for the first two volumes, has xii + 769 pages. All volumes measure 10.25" x 7.5". The culmination of over 30 years of work, the volumes contain descriptions and pictures of all of the know genera of mammals. Condition: very good. Not ex-library. First two vol. have owner's name on free front end paper. There are occasional marginal notes scattered through Vol. I & II. The slipcase is sound with only minor wear. Volumes show minimal wear. In Vol. II there are two issues: a tear of ~1" at the top of front flyleaf; later in the volume there are 6-7 pages w/chipping at top. Vol. III DJ has tears and chips. See photos.
