The set was issued from 1976 to 1980 under the direction of the International Olympic Committee to commemorate the greatest moments in the modern Olympic games beginning in 1896.The obverse features Bob Beamon of the United States, who set a world record in the long jump of 29' 2 1/2".The reverse features a laurel wreath with the Olympic Rings symbol and information on the featured athlete inscribed in Spanish.
