Description: This is a Wonderful Victorian Quadruple Silverplate PICKLE CASTOR from the MIDDLETOWN PLATE Co. It is fitted with a hand painted Cranberry Enamel art galss JAR/insert - a boublous shape piece with interior verticle ribbing - finished with applied clear Rigaree around the waist. The elegant Frame has an interesting hoop handle - smooth on one side - twisted on the other, curling to form the decorative top - accented with berries, flowers and leaves at the sides and bottom. The base has two bands of an embossed swag & flower design that matches the decor on the lid. Fancy tongs hang at the side.
