Grabill identified this Lakota camp as the Villa of Brule. The horses in the foreground are drinking from the White Clay Creek watering hole. They are being watched by a U.S. Cavalry soldier. There are Lakota standing on the knoll above their tipis and horses. There is a lot to see in this photo (number 1). So, we have included close-ups of two portions of the image (numbers 2 and 3). We also have another photo in eBay taken by Grabill at the same camp. It shows a single Lakota family or group with infants, horse, and tipi.
