Description: Nordmændene i Amerika, deres historie og rekord - bidrag til og bindeled mellem Norges historie og Nord-Amerikas, de Forenede Staters i särdelshed, by Martin Ulvestad. Published in 1907 by History Book Company's Forlag, Minneapolis, Minn. Text is in Norwegian, in the older, fraktur typeface. This large (9 X 12 X 2 in.), 502 page hardcover contains information about the various immigrants who settled in the United States and Canada, state by state, province by province and county by county. The large, fold-out map shows the settlements of Norwegian-Americans throughout the United States on one side, and has a more detailed look at the settlements in the Midwest on the other side. The map was torn away from the back endpaper. It's wrinkled along the edge where it was torn out, and it has some moth-eaten areas, with tiny punctures mostly in Canada and Michigan on the former side and mostly in northern Minnesota and North Dakota on the latter side. The book is complete and securely bound. There are small highlighted passages on one page (pic #9) and light blue stains on a couple of other pages (pic #10). A couple of page corner bends, sparse foxing, otherwise unmarked. Enclosed is a photocopy of some brief family histories in English. Free shipping in the USA. Thanks for looking! Location: immigrant history section.
