Description: This stunning purple vintage shift dress from Norman Hartnell, has the prestigious Hartnell vintage label with two Royal Warrants, as dressmaker to both Queen Elizabeth II and the Queen Mother. The classic knee-length design with a drop waist and inverted pleats creates an understated and classic look, while the collarless round neck and long sleeves with ornate silver-tone button accents add a touch of designer elegance. Handcrafted in England circa 1980s, from quite thick material, possibly wool?, although as it is a bespoke piece there are no composition or care labels, so I'm unsure exactly - dry cleaning is recommended. Subtle shoulder pads create a flattering silhouette, with rear zip closure and fully lined for a comfortable fit, making it suitable for cooler seasons such as autumn, winter, and spring.
