I recently acquired a large collection of Currier & Ives prints and have slowly been processing them. I have sold hundreds of Curriers over the last 2 decades and I know that the Civil War examples are highly collected so I figured I would start with listing this one. From the research I have done, this one might be one of the rarest Civil War Currier & Ives prints I have come across. I cannot find another example of these out there except a couple in institutions. Image measures 8 1/4 x 12 1/2 inches on sheet measuring 10 x 14 inches. It is in excellent condition with just some consistent toning and a few small spots that look as though they are from the original wood backing. Great original hand coloring. The print is in the original frame that shows some veneer loss. It even still has the original one piece wood backing as well/ Frame measures 12 1/2 x 16 1/2 inches.
